This tree began as a sapling at the bottom of a deep canyon where only a little light reached the floor for only, at most, a few hours a day. In addition, due to ceaseless erosion, it had to run the gauntlet of crashing boulders. Today it stands strong where its leaves enjoy sunlight most of the day. |
